The CFA-44 makes its only campaign appearance towards the end of mission #13, "The Liberation of Gracemeria", where it it flown by Strigon leader Ilya Pasternak in a last stand for the occupying Estovakian forces. Emblazoned in a red-black paint scheme, Pasternak's Nosferatu is armed with All Direction Multipurpose Missile launch pods, and is accompanied by a massive swarm of UAV-45 combat drones.
Completing Campaign mode in Hard difficulty will unlock the CFA-44 in the Hangar screen in the next New Game+ playthrough, at the cost of 229,500$ credits. As a player aircraft, the CFA-44 possesses maximum mobility and air-to-air statistics, at the expense of low defense and stability. It is armed with a 300-missile payload and dual machine guns. Its high mobility allows experienced players to weave through enemy fire; however its maneuverability comes at the cost of a flaw with high-G turning: the aircraft tends to get stuck in high-G, and will quickly bleed out speed. This often leads to the aircraft stalling, which can prove fatal in combat situations.
The CFA-44 makes an appearance in Co-op Battle stage #3, based on "Ragno Fortress". If the conditions are met, players will have to face Pasternak as the "level boss". It is also featured in the downloadable mode Ace of Aces, where it is flown by Victor Voychek in mission #1, and by both Estovakian pilots in the mode's remade "Heavy Command Cruiser."
Online-wise, the Nosferatu is often disliked by players. Even though it may look otherwise, the EML will not destroy all enemy player aircraft in a single shot. Aircraft with enough defense, such as an standard A-10A, can survive a slug impact. A player kill with the CFA-44 will net 500 points, as opposed to lower-tier aircraft, which can earn even 2,000 points (in the case of the F-16C) with one kill.

Paint schemes

  • Emmerian: Basic gray w/ light brown cockpit.
  • Estovakian: Black-and-red Strigon paint scheme.
  • Special: White w/ blue wings.

CFA-44 -ACES-

The CFA-44 -ACES- is a downloadable aircraft in Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation. Part of DLC Pack #10, it was released in July 24th 2008, costing ¤200 MSP at the Xbox Marketplace. In appearance. the ACES Nosferatu is identical to the basic Emmerian version, save for the added Project Aces emblems placed around the airframe. The ACES emblem replaces the Estovakian Air Force's roundel in the wings, while the tailcode has been changed to "AC 006".
The aircraft appears to have been designed for experienced players, as evidenced by its statistics. Air-to-air, air-to-ground and defense have been lowered, the third one to low levels, while speed and stability have been upgraded, the latter solving the aircraft's problematic tendency to stall. As well, weapons capacity was severely reduced, thus demanding a high level of skill for maximum efficiency.

CFA-44 -PROTOTYPE-

Prototype Aircraft. The stability of this aircraft has taken precedence over other design elements to facilitate a battle deployed EML system. The fully maximized striking power of the EML makes up for any inherent disadvantages in dogfighting capabilities. A variety of additional customizations were carried out at the hand of ace pilot Ilya Pasternak."

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon

The CFA-44 Nosferatu returns in Ace Combat: Assault Horizon. It was released together with the AV-8B Harrier II Plus and the online maps Tokyo and Honolulu in the "Online Pack" in December 20, 2011.
The Nosferatu is a high-end multirole aircraft, possessing near maximum Speed, Fire Power and Mobility statistics. Its strength lies in its maneuverability and firepower, which have the highest rating out of any aircraft in the game. However, this advantage in power comes at the cost of the aircraft inheriting its original incarnation's low stability problems. Moreover, its armor is light and thin, making flight hazardous in heavy combat situations.
The aircraft retains the same weapons loadout from Fires of Liberation: namely, the All Direction Multi-Purpose Missile, the Electromagnetic Launcher and the Electronic Counter Measure Pod. With the exception of the ECMP, the offensive weapons have been modified for gameplay balacing purposes: the ADMM features an slower lock-on time for full twelve-missile launch and reduced power, whereas the EML requires more time to reload, but retains its characteristic "one-shot-one-kill" power, however in the mission "Akula" Markov will not be destroyed with one shot of the EML.
